Jared R. Dunahoe
2025-26 President-Elect
Jared R. Dunahoe is an attorney with the Natchitotches-based Dunahoe Law Firm. He practices in the areas of vehicular wrecks, wrongful deaths, catastrophic injury, maritime/Jones Act claims, products liability aviation accidents, drug/medical device recalls, third-party liability in industrial accidents, burn injuries, and road hazards. The firm also represents people in Shreveport, Alexandria and the surrounding communities.
A member of LAJ’s Executive Committee since 2023, Dunahoe has been deeply involved with LAJ. He serves as co-chair of the LAJ Legislation Committee and vice-chair of the LAJ Shreveport Regional Membership Committee. He was also the 2023-2024 chair of the LAJ Auto Torts section
Dunahoe received the LAJ President’s Award in 2020 and 2024. Dunahoe has testified on behalf of LAJ before several legislative committees, and has brought clients to testify as well. When Past President Scott Chafin presented Dunahoe with the 2024 LAJ President’s award, he stated that he was “constantly amazed at Jared’s knowledge of the issues” and that Dunahoe’s ability to advocate for justice comes to him “naturally.”
Dunahoe graduated with a B.A. in journalism from Northwestern State University. He received his J.D. from Southern University Law Center, where he graduated second in his class and earned the highest grade in more than 15 classes. He was also a member of the Southern University Law Review.
Jared Dunahoe is a member of the Natchitoches Bar Association. He also serves as a gubernatorial appointee on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts.
