A Statement from Louisiana Association for Justice:
May the tragic and senseless death of George Floyd compel each of us to commit ourselves to the pursuit of justice in both word and deed. For our country to reach its aspirational goal of equal justice for all, the value of every life, regardless of skin color, must carry the same weight on the scales of justice. Unfortunately, they still do not. A critical step toward achieving equal justice is to recognize and admit this unflattering, inconvenient truth. The Louisiana Association of Justice is proud to stand and fight for the end of systemic racism in every aspect of American life. In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Until each of us are judged according to the content of our character, the fight for justice and our work as trial lawyers will not end.
